A good, clean vocal score of selections from a great musical. I've looked at the score from the movie, with a much more cumbersome accompaniment (as a result of the movie's more orchestral, and less chamber-style, accompaniment) and retains the alterations made to the movie's melodies, in places such as The Contest.Therefore, I much prefer the arrangements from the Broadway selections book. My main complaint, and it is a huge complaint, is the lack of Sweeney's songs. I would like to meet the appropriately deranged fellow who would similarly bemoan the lack of Women and their Sensitivities and By The Sea instead of those horrid My Friends and Epiphany. Unfortunately, I have the opposite view, and I would love to have Sweeney's songs, and it seems that in order to obtain them, I must swallow my pride and buy the selections from the movie.
